As the king of the Arctic region, the polar bear has been honored with placement on a 2009 United States Postal Service stamp. Although an illustration, the polar bear is noted for his beautiful white coat and black nose and eyes. Nancy Stahl collected a number of polar bear photographs in order to build the stylized illustration she created of this majestic animal. The Scandinavian countries have also honored the polar bear with placement on a few stamps.
The fascination that humans have with the polar bear can naturally have his pictures placed upon postcards using a number of different computer software programs. Vacations to the Arctic are not amongst the most popular destinations to travel. However, for those people that have traveled to the home of the polar bear and managed to get photographs, it would be marvelous to turn them into postcards. One of the fun things about postcards is the fact that you are sharing your adventures not only with the person to whom you are mailing the card, but also to everyone that sees it along the way.
Alaska and Canada would be locations that a traveler could purchase postcards that had pictures of polar bears. Alaskans love the polar bears, but also find that concern over the bear's endangered status could well affect the financial stability of Alaska due to the blocking of natural gas and oil drilling ventures. Though not related to postage stamps or postcards, the future of the polar bear must remain real, not just pictures on these items.
